Teachers and their students will discover a new, interactive and vivid way to learn about the flora and fauna that dominated the planet in the prehistoric past. You’ll be taken on guided safaris with expert Jurassic Forest staff. You’ll watch dinosaurs in action, dig for real ancient remains and camp and picnic in a land populated with the animals and plants that ruled earth 100 million years ago.
Time your school’s visit to coincide with one of our science-based special events held throughout the year. Experts in the field will be invited to lecture and accompany classes as they experience ‘real’ dinosaurs up close for the first time.
Field trip lesson plans, developed by Educators in accordance with the Alberta Education curriculum, are available for teachers visiting Jurassic Forest.

Dinosaur Program
Bones are one thing, but what better way to learn about dinosaurs then to actually see them? Jurassic Forest offers you and your class an adventure that will make your dinosaur unit one of the best that your students experience all year. Our guided school programs will teach your students about the traits and characteristics of over 20 different dinosaurs, how they lived and how we see them today.
The Natural Environment
Not studying dinosaurs this year? No problem. We can bring you and your students an opportunity to experience first hand the wide variety of plants and animals that live in our forest today. Whether you are discussing the 140 plus plants, animals and insects that we have identified, unique biomes such as a peat bogs and marshes, or how different biomes mature and change over time, Jurassic Forest can give you and your students a chance to practically apply what they have learned in the classroom.
Jurassic Classrooms
Classrooms are also available where you can build on your student’s Jurassic forest experience. Use one of our lesson plans, or design your own, our classrooms offer you a great opportunity to relate what your students have learned at Jurassic forest, to what they are learning with you in your classroom.
